Administration for Community Living (ACL) Funding of State grants “To enhance APS systems statewide, to include innovations and improvement in practice, services and data collection and reporting, as well as their technical ability to interface with ACL’s National Adult Maltreatment Reporting System (NAMRS)”: DPPC was awarded an ACL grant in the amount of $300,000 over a two year period to improve the adult protective services (APS) system in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. DPPC’s project entitled, Improving the Well-Being of Persons with Disabilities through a Multidisciplinary Partnership, created a collaboration between DPPC and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Riverside Community Care, Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services, Massachusetts Advocates Standing Strong, Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance, Massachusetts Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program, Jane Doe, Inc. and the Hampden District Attorney Office. Nationally, DPPC was one of eleven state agencies to be awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Community Living ACL). The partnership worked to improve overall experiences, health, well-being and outcomes of sexual assault victims with a developmental disability by improving access to effective trauma-informed services from Massachusetts rape crisis centers.
